What is Neurotoxin?

Neurotoxin is derived from purified botulism that has been approved by the FDA for managing forehead lines, crow’s feet and treating the glabellar region. The botulism toxin works by inhibiting muscle contraction, thus assisting with improvement in the appearance of lines and wrinkles. When used appropriately, these toxins are not harmful. Toxin can also be used in other areas of the face.

The Process

Tox is delivered via injection using a very fine needle. Typical side effects can include minor swelling or bruising at the injection site. Results are observed within a few days but can take up to two weeks to take effect. Results can last up to 3-6 months depending on the strength of the muscle. A follow up two weeks after injection is recommended but not required. If needed, two additional units is included in any dosage adjustments. Further units required will be subject to additional cost.
